You stumble through the alley, your bones tired to the marrow. A bundle of clothes startles you when it moves. At first you think it's a rabid dog, ready for attack. A hood shifts, a face appears. No, it's just some homeless guy, turning and mumbling in his sleep.

You turn the corner and see an electrical goods store, the windows filled with flickering televisions. One of them draws your attention. The image on the screen is dark at first, but when it brightens, you see two ghostly words. They sharpen into focus.

It's a name, one you've heard before:

Welcome to the first newsletter from the world of Daniel Hatadi.

Here you can look forward to announcements of my latest fiction on the net or in print; readings, signings and mass murderings. Further down the track, exclusive short stories and competitions for mailing list members only.

The biggest news will be publishing dates for new novels, which while exciting, isn't worth holding your breath for.

I do have one newsworthy item to kick off the newsletter. One of my short stories is in a blog-based contest. The challenge was to write a story that included an armoured car and children's clothing. Click here to read the stories and vote.
